Grammar A0–A1

Grammar that explains itself.

Each topic is a short lesson you page through, with sentences you can listen to and exercises at the end.

Every explanation is written twice, in English and in Turkish, and the lessons show the one your interface uses (English for any other language). What you learn — examples, tables, dialogues — is Russian, with the stress marked on every word.

Every lesson ends with a dialogue in a yellow house on Vasilyevsky Island in Saint Petersburg: Kate from Leeds, Emre from İzmir, Anna Petrovna and her cat Barsik, and the neighbours.

Drills that explain

Practice that tells you why.

Short drills after each lesson: one try per question, then you see why the answer is right.

Exercises in every lesson

Хм … он, она́ и́ли оно́?Hmm… he, she or it?

Words by topic

The A1 words, stress and all.

The A1 words in decks by topic, each with its stress mark, its gender and forms, an example sentence read aloud and its meaning in your language.

Russian nouns have three genders and no articles, so the lessons show the gender in colour: ключ blue, су́мка pink, молоко́ green and a plural like часы́ yellow — you see a noun’s gender before you have to remember it.

ключсу́мкамолоко́часы́

Ключ, су́мка, молоко́.Key, bag, milk.

From the alphabet

You can already read six letters.

The course starts before A1. Two lessons for the alphabet — the letters you know, the false friends that look Latin but are not, and the new ones — then the hard and soft signs, stress, the spelling rules, intonation and the numbers to ten. Every word carries its stress mark and is read aloud.

Кот, ма́ма, рестора́н — ты уже́ чита́ешь!Cat, mum, restaurant — you’re already reading!

support@lingotivo.com
Is Lingotivo free?

Yes, you can start for free, with no card needed: the first three grammar lessons of every level and the first word list are open. Pro opens everything.

Which levels does it cover?

A0 and A1 of the Common European Framework. Grammar starts before A1 with the alphabet, the sounds and stress, then takes you through A1; the word list holds the A1 words.

Does my progress sync with the app?

Yes. Your account, your progress and Pro are the same on russian.lingotivo.com and in the Lingotivo app for iPhone.

Which language are the lessons explained in?

In English or in Turkish: with a Turkish interface the explanations, hints and translations are Turkish, with any other interface English. Everything you learn — examples, tables and dialogues — is Russian, with the stress marked and read aloud. Word cards show their meaning in many languages.

How do I sign in?

With your e-mail and a password, your Google account or your Apple ID. If you turned on two-factor authentication, we ask for your code too.

Can I learn other languages here?

Each language has its own Lingotivo site with its own guide, and one account works on all of them — see them all at lingotivo.com.
